Victoria National Golf Club is seeking an Assistant in Training (AIT) to join our management team. We are an 18 hole private club with a primarily national membership. Designed by Tom Fazio the course has continuously been ranked in multiple top 100 lists since inception and is currently ranked number one in Indiana. Located in the southwest corner of the state, it’s the only cool-season facility in the region. Greens, tees, and fairways are grassed with L-93 Bentgrass. Our rough is primarily Midnight Kentucky Bluegrass. Dew paths and intermediates are Perennial Ryegrass and HGT Bluegrass. Our turf types combined with our climate provide a unique opportunity to learn elite course presentation in an extremely challenging environment. We are fortunate to have ownership that understands what is needed to maintain a course of our caliber. We are closed annually from late November to early April to perform all turf cultivation practices as well as architectural and construction updates. Position Overview The AIT will work directly with Assistant Superintendents and the Director of Agronomy, and is considered a key member of the management team. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all agronomic practices, construction projects, scheduling of staff, as well as long and short term planning. It is our goal to prepare you for a successful career as a Superintendent or Director of Agronomy. Over the last three years we have helped place three of our assistants into Superintendent positions at well-regarded clubs in the region. Victoria National is part of a network of seven private clubs that make up the Dormie Network. This provides the opportunity to travel to other clubs and experience different turf varieties as well as management styles should you desire.
